The Aberdares range

You stay in a beautiful, architect-designed lodge in the northern sector of the National Park.

It’s cold at night and the cabins have wood burners which are very welcome.

The lodge has a wildlife viewing deck and you will most likely see buffalo and elephant in the evenings.

You can hike to the highest peak in the Aberdares, Ol Donyo Lesatima at just over 4,000 metres, or a shorter hike to the extraordinary rock formations of Dragon’s Teeth set in a landscape reminiscent of Lord of the Rings.

There are also the spectacular waterfalls of Karuru, Chania and Gura.
