Mount Ololokwe

Rising out of the arid desert lands of northern Kenya, Mount Ololokwe is an impressive basalt massif.

You stay at a camp at the base of the mountain, perfect for exploring the local area.

You can fly camp at the summit overnight and watch the sun rise.

In the early morning light, vultures, roosting on the soaring cliffs below, rise up on thermals and drift past.

You can also visit Reteti, the nearby elephant orphanage, where you can see feeding time, visit the kitchens where the milk is prepared and watch the baby eles having a mud bath!
